SIA’s President, staff and membership regularly participate as industry experts at major satellite industry-related conferences and symposium in the U.S. and around the world. In addition, SIA manages key panels at many of the major industry and government satellite-industry related conferences.
SATELLITE Conference & Exhibition
Since 2004, SIA has supported the annualSATELLITE Conference & Exhibition by sponsoring the Military Track series of panels. This international conference focuses on providing solutions to the satellite end-user community. For the Military Track, SIA brings together both industry and government representatives to explore key policy and operational issues affecting the intersection of U.S. government requirements and commercial satellite capabilities.
SATCON Conference and Exhibition
SIA supports the annual SATCON Conference and Exhibition by developing the Government Track of panels discussing issues such as Hosted Payloads, UAV’s, Information Assurance and Protection. In these panels, both industry and government discuss the synergy between the needs of the government for secure and seamless communications and the state-of-the-art of technology for satellite communications.
GSA Network Services Conference
For the last two years, SIA has supported the GSA Network Services Conference, an annual focused on U.S. government-wide communications, to organize a satellite technology panel. For this panel, SIA brings together industry experts from the satellite industry to explore topics such as satellite capacity and opportunities presented by the upcoming Future COMSATCOM Services Acquisition FCSA government procurement process for satellite communications.
IWCE 2010
SIA also has supported the IWCE 2010 conference by launching a “Satellites to the Rescue” presentation, a half-day overview on how s atellite communications have become an essential tool for public safety and emergency communications. SIA’s members, government agency representatives and industry experts bring together their extensive experience with disaster communications and new technology solutions and tailored applications specifically designed for emergency response, disaster preparedness and first responder communities. Topics addressed include how best to incorporate satellite capabilities into disaster response network, enhance interoperability and ensure ongoing communications before, during and after disasters, both man-made and natural.
